Your Guide to Handling Dental Emergencies with Ease
knocked-out tooth
Rinse it gently with water and try to place it back in the socket or store it in a container with milk. Bring your child and the tooth to our office immediately. Be sure not to handle the tooth by the root!
chipped or broken tooth
Rinse your child’s mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Save any broken pieces and bring them to your appointment.
toothache
Rinse the mouth with warm water and gently floss to remove food debris. Avoid placing aspirin on the tooth or gums, as this can cause burns.
soft tissue injuries
Clean the area with warm water and apply pressure with a clean cloth to stop bleeding. If bleeding is severe or does not stop, go to the nearest emergency room.
